Welcome to IONETIC.

IONETIC is a software-accelerated, end-to-end battery pack developer dedicated to revolutionising the way battery packs are brought to market.
Born out of of Imperial College London, our journey began as expert consultants, collaborating with vehicle OEMs to help them navigate the complexities of battery pack development. Through these collaborations, we identified a common thread of challenges, with the development cycle of ‘ground-up’ battery development simply too lengthy, costly and risky for many OEMs to take on.

Recognising this widespread challenge, we founded IONETIC with a clear mission: to create a better, more efficient way to bring bespoke battery packs to market. By investing in our own software, hardware and fabrication technologies, we’ve created a robust system that allows us to deliver world-leading battery packs to market faster and cheaper than anyone else.

James Eaton

CEO and Co-Founder

Working as a consultant to leading automotive OEMs on battery pack development, James founded IONETIC to change the way batteries are brought to market. As CEO, he oversees all technical functions, and has built a world-class team ensuring IONETIC delivers and scales for its customers worldwide.

Dr. Andy Palmer

Chairman

Often referred to as the ‘godfather’ of EVs, Andy Palmer brings over 44 years of Automotive Experience to Ionetic. Having served as CEO of Aston Martin, and COO of Nissan, Andy is known as one of the driving forces behind the development and global launch of the Nissan LEAF.

Dr. Monica Marinescu

Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer

As an Associate Professor at Imperial, Dr. Marinescu is recognised worldwide for her expertise in battery technology, development, and innovation. As Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer to IONETIC, she ensures IONETIC's solutions remain at the forefront of battery performance, delivering the needs of customers.

Stephen Large

Chief Manufacturing Officer

Having set up one of the UK’s largest battery pack manufacturing lines, Stephen is considered an expert in battery industrialisation and scale-up. With over 25 years’ experience at JLR and others, Stephen joined IONETIC to lead the delivery of IONETIC's flexible battery fabrication system, a key enabler of its ‘Arc’ battery development platform.
